There was a girl I used to tutor one-to-one.
She was quite shy and didn’t say much.
When I asked her a question about Maths, she would go red and hardly respond.
This child should never have had a tutor.
Based on the Myers-Briggs personality test, this girl was clearly an “Introvert” (I)
She wasn’t comfortable being around strangers.
What she needed instead was an online approach.
One which hardly involved any face-to-face interaction.
Somebody who would show her where she was going wrong but she could learn in her own time without the physical presence of a teacher.
Not only that, but this student was a P-Type individual (Procrastinator)
She didn’t like the idea of a regimen…
And the last thing she needed was more homework from me…
On top of what she was already getting from school.
This would only cause her stress and overwhelm to go through the roof…
And when a child is in this state, it’s virtually impossible to achieve the top grades.
In the end, this student got a 6 (B) in Maths and even though it was an improvement (she got a 4 in her first mock paper)…
I was very disappointed because she was definitely capable of achieving a grade 7 (A) or higher!
And she deserved it too…
Not just her but also her mother…
Because she went out of her way to support her child during her GCSE studies.
She dropped her daughter off at my home for Maths tuition, every week after work.
Then she would wait outside until the lesson was over.
She didn’t go home because by the time she got back, she would have to leave again straight after to collect her daughter...
So it made sense to stick around in my local area.
In the evening after a lesson, she would review the homework I set for her child and made sure she completed it.
Looking back now, the mother didn’t need to do any of this and her daughter would still have achieved a grade 7 (or higher) had we tweaked the format slightly.
So what if your child is like this student I used to tutor?
What if they are an “introvert” and don’t like being around strangers?
What if they’re the type to get overwhelmed every time you give them a new piece of work to do?
What is the best way to support them in their GCSE studies and help them get the highest grades possible?
Let me introduce you to the GCSE Maths Mentor:
It’s a dedicated coach for Maths who is on-hand 24 hours a day to answer any question your child has in their studies.
This is totally unlike a standard tuition service where your child is restricted to a small window when the session takes place…
Your child can contact their GCSE support coach at any time, even if it’s 3am and their coach will respond immediately…
As long as they are not in the middle of a meal or call of nature lol.
Their coach will send them a text message and explain how to solve their problem there and then.
If your child is still unsure, their coach will send an image or video clip breaking-down the solution.
This is the best way to communicate because it maximises efficiency and keeps time wastage to a minimum.
At the end of the day, your child cannot afford to spend hours on a single problem.
They have many other subjects to revise for.
Plus, they need to spare time for extra-curricular and social activities to keep their physical and mental well-being intact...
And help them become a well-rounded individual and not just a book worm.
This is why the GCSE Maths Mentor will not be holding weekly sessions in Maths or setting any homework as such…
Because let’s face it, your child doesn’t want more lessons and homework…
Especially if they are already spending 6 hours a day at school!
What they need is a dedicated coach to fall back on whenever they don’t understand something at school or get stuck on a homework question.
That way, your child will never lose track at school.
The goal is to help your child score the highest grades in their school tests so they become top of their class and the teacher has no choice but to move them up a set…
Because your child will be placed alongside more-able students and they’ll begin to set their sights higher.
The only way to achieve this is if we focus primarily on your child’s school work and help them conquer it.
One of the biggest benefits of this set-up is your child will be communicating with their coach 1-to-1 which means anything they ask them will be kept 100% private and confidential.
I know children can hesitate to speak-up in a class full of children because they worry about saying something silly in front of their peers (I used to be like that when I was at school)…
But your child will have nothing to worry about because when they contact their GCSE Maths coach for help, there will be no other students “in the room” and listening-in…
The coach will give your child their full, undivided attention.
Plus, they will give them targeted exam questions to do whenever they feel a certain area of the syllabus has become a weakness.
This is how they’ll accelerate your child’s performance at school – by identifying their weaknesses early on and turning them into strengths as quickly as possible.
And here’s another bonus. You won’t have to spend any time figuring this out yourself…
Or feel stressed because you’re not sure what materials are most relevant to your child’s upcoming exams.
Their GCSE Maths coach will handle all of that for you, taking the load off your shoulders.
In sum, when your child registers for the GCSE Maths Mentor today, you’ll get:
